These images are from a long-term archival art project where I am exploring and documenting the rich history of a community just North of Detroit. Secluded and nestled away from main roads, it is a community, rooted in the legacy of the Great Migration. I seek to illuminate the untold stories and cherished memories of this, once all-black, community that defied the norms of its time.
